Augusta Moun

Breed: Arabian/Morgan

Age: 7 Years

Color: Bay

Weight: Approx 500 lb

Sex: Mare

Comments: Augusta Moun has a best friend in Lucero here at the Sanctuary. Augusta has been started under saddle. Our trainer was able to actually ride her bareback with a halter and lead rope. She responds pretty well to reigning commands, but will need more work with that. Augusta has been ground worked here at the Sanctuary and has done really well with that. Augusta is a great prospect for a child or a light adult rider with an experienced, gentle trainer.

Farrier: Does excellent as long as you keep her mouth busy.

Comments: Bashkira has been a wonderful horse, she is kind, gentle, halters, trailers and leads very well. Bashkira has never been ridden, she was used as a brood mare, which we will not allow. Bashkira needs grain daily to maintain her weight and would make an excellent pasture pal.

Breed: Arabian

Age: 8 Years

Color: Chestnut

Comments: Lucero has a best friend here, Augusta Moun. These two are joined at the hip and can be seen everywhere together. Lucero does not appear to have had much training. He is very easy to halter, his has done very well for the farrier and has a very good mind. Our trainer was able to sit on him bareback with a leader. Lucero did not appear to know anything, but is very willing to learn and did not exhibit any behavioral issues such as bucking, kicking, or skittishness.

Lucero would be a great prospect to train as a children’s horse or for a light adult rider. It is our hope that he would stay with his friend Augusta.

Button to inquire about the arabian horses.

Gentleman Jim/ Gently

Breed: Arabian

Age: 8 Years

Color: Liver Chestnut

Weight: Approx 500 lb

Sex: Gelding

Farrier: It's a bit of a struggle.

Comments: Gently is a very special boy. Due to poor genetics and breeding practices, Gently has a very large under bite. He is a small Arabian and can be skittish until he trusts you completely. Gently will probably do best as a pasture pal for a while. We really would not recommend him as a riding horse, though ground work and training would do a world of good for him.

Comments: Lady Josephine/"Carne" is a beautiful mare. In her description, she is said to have some rides on her, she has not been ridden with a bit and would require an expert rider. We believe that this is pretty accurate. Josephine has been easy to halter and leads well, she can be a bit skittish and has done pretty well for our farrier. She will definitely need some reminders and a person that is experienced.

Arabian mare Madame X.

Button to inquire about the arabian horses.

Madame X

Breed: Arabian

Age: 13 Years

Color: Grey

Weight: Approx 700 lb

Sex: Mare

Farrier: A little jittery, but does pretty well considering.

Comments: Madame X is very bonded with her son, Willie. It is our hope that these two stay together, we truly believe that they would emotionally and then physically perish without each other. Madame X has had some rides on her, needs an expert only and was not ridden under bit. From our observations, she is pretty skittish, but will calm as she learns to trust. We definitely think that she would be an excellent riding prospect.

Comments: When Rasmeena first arrived, she had a mass on her eyelid that proved to be a tumor. This was treated immediately and has not returned, her eyelid and eyesight is normal. Rasmeena was used strictly as breeding stock, we would never recommend this knowing her history. She is absolutely stunning and we believe that given proper training and time, she would make an excellent riding prospect. Experienced to Advanced handler/rider needed.

Comments: Sylver Moun entered the Sanctuary with her 4 month old foal at her side. Her nickname is “Yoda” due to the cuteness of her little ears! Sylver has supposedly been ridden previously as part of a camp for teaching ground school and riding. She has not been trained to a bit. Sylver is easy to halter, leads and trailers well and has a very sweet disposition.

Age: 2 Years

Color: Bay

Weight: Approx 450 lb

Sex: Gelding

Farrier: A little jittery, but does pretty well considering. Hard to trim on his hind.

Comments: This little boy is very sweet, his hind legs touch at the knees, so he is a bit sad on his composition, we honestly don't think at this point that he will be rideable due to some hip and hind leg issues. He does halter and lead well. We plan to explore chiropractic alternatives for him.

Button to inquire about the arabian horses.

Willie

Breed: Arabian

Age: 7 Years

Color: Grey

Weight: Approx 700 lb

Sex: Gelding

Farrier: A little jittery, requires a lot of patience and gentling.

Comments: Willie is a total sweetheart and is fairly easy to halter, he has begun to trust us more and more, but is still very skittish, especially with his legs. He has a hard time understanding what the farrier is trying to do with his hooves. Willie would be a great prospect for an owner that was willing to work with a trainer or that is very experienced.
