Sherman (Kiowa) October
Update: Kiowa's condition continued to deteriorate and consequently was
humanly euthanized. May you rest in peace.
July Update: Kiowa: 11 year old paint gelding update: Kiowa is
still having problems with his swollen sheath after being examined by
several veterinarians. He is scheduled for a biopsy next week and HSUS has
graciously offered to help with this expense!
May Update: Sherman is continuing to improve, although his sheath is still
swollen. We have had numerous veterinarians look at his sheath and have not
found a solution to the problem. Sherman is in need of an ultrasound to see if
we can determine the cause of the swelling.
Sherman was renamed Kiowa by Jill and Darius of Frisco. Jill and
Darius are planning to adopt Kiowa pending the results of his test.
Sherman arrives at Denkai....

Sherman is a gorgeous 11 year old Paint Gelding. Upon
arrival, Sherman showed an outrageously swollen sheath, making it hard to
urinate. He was tested for cancer and other abnormalities, thankfully, this all
came back negative. We believe that this is from being kicked in the trailer by
another horse.

Sherman's swelling continues to reduce daily. We believe that he is very well
trained, but will find out in a couple of weeks. Oh and if you come to visit and
he backs in to you, don't hesitate to give him a good scratchin on his rear!
